With a three-day tournament during the Easter weekend, the former U19 Korfball World Cup has been transformed into an official IKF U19 World Korfball Championship. And there were many exciting matches to see. Everything could be followed live on the live stream. A well-filled sports hall during the matches and virtually no space left during the final. The tension until the last minute, the outburst of joy, the comfort of the opponent and from other countries, all that makes korfball so beautiful.
Congratulations to the Organization Committee for achieving this great result. Of course also congratulations to the champion, the Netherlands, who beat Belgium in a thriller of a final. The bronze medal was won by Chinese Taipei, which team managed to beat Germany.
Now that the good example has been set by the organization in Friesland, the three korfball clubs from Eindhoven in collaboration with RTC Zuid will organize the younger brother of this great tournament. The U17 Korfball World Cup will be held on 29 and 30 June. We would like to see just as much tension, sensation, fraternization, struggle, joy there. We look forward to seeing you!
